Come hear Duxbury Historical Society Archivist and Historian Carolyn Ravenscroft as she tells the stories of women who made voyages during the 18th and 19th centuries.
Sunday, January 23, at 2pm. Presented by the Historical Society of Old Yarmouth and the Cultural Center of Cape Cod. This presentation will be held online on Zoom. Between the late 18th century and early 19th century, hundreds of ships were built in Duxbury, Massachusetts. The resulting economic boom resonated throughout the community, and Duxbury became home to many shipbuilding and maritime families including dozens of mates, Mari timers, and their wives. The Center's main parking lot is at the rear of the campus off Union Street, with overflow parking in the town lot on the corner of Old Main and Union Street or down Mill Street. The accessible parking spaces are near the accessible ramp entrance at the rear of the campus.
