Drum Workshop with Julian Loida 

Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on five Thursdays, beginning September 22, from 11 am-12 pm.

Join Julian Loida, percussionist, composer, and Head of Music at the Cultural Center, to learn the basic techniques of hand drumming featuring rhythms from around the world. By learning the art of drumming, participants will gain numerous benefits including increased strength, endurance, and coordination. Some research even suggests that drumming can lower blood pressure, reduce stress and anxiety, and help to control chronic pain. Julian creates a fun, engaging and interactive setting where participants will explore dozens of rhythms from Brazilian, flamenco, Afro-Caribbean, Arabic, Celtic, and funk music. All levels are welcome. Participants are asked to bring their own percussion instruments. There are a limited number at the Center, which will be first come, first serve.
