Artist Presentation with Konstantin Dimopoulos

The Museum has commissioned the artist to create a bold and colorful environmental art installation, The Blue Trees, on the Museum grounds. This internationally acclaimed artwork, which has been presented in twenty four cities to date, is designed by the artist to call attention to global deforestation.  He hopes to raise social consciousness about this important ecological issue.

The Museum has chosen this project as part of its 2019 community engagement initiative. The installation will allow the community to actively participate in the making of a significant environmental art work, and it will also stimulate a conversation about the purposes of art and whether cultural institutions can be a place of dialogue about important ecological and cultural issues.

The artwork will be created by Mr. Dimopoulos and a team of community volunteers the week of May 27^th and debut at an Open House and Artist Reception at the Museum on June 1^st.

Community members who would like to participate in the installation and learn more about global deforestation are welcome to attend the presentation On April 3 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm. Pre-registration is requested by emailing info@cahoonmuseum.org or signing up through the Museum’s website home page.
