An Afternoon with Vocal Ensemble Culomba 

Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Sunday, February 5, at 4pm.

Culomba is a Boston-based vocal ensemble specializing in close harmony singing from around the world. Culomba (“dove” in Corsican) draws from a deep well of repertoire, including American folk traditions, music of Georgia, Corsica, the Balkans, and Ukraine, early European polyphony, and original compositions. Culomba’s singers have toured internationally and studied with masters of these traditions and bring their specialized knowledge to this unique ensemble. The ensemble combines attention to detail with a relaxed stage presence that draws new listeners in. Upcoming and recent engagements include Club Passim (Cambridge), Barbes (Brooklyn), Capital City Concerts (Vermont), and a residency at Bennington College. This performance features Sophie Michaux (mezzo-soprano), Adam Simon (baritone, plucked strings), Lysander Jaffe (tenor, violin), Lexi Ugelow (alto, percussion), and Daniel Fridley (bass, wind instruments).
