Mary Ince

Visual Arts: Works on Paper

I am a visual artist specializing in printmaking and drawing. My inspirations are gleaned from the physical nature of feelings and emotions that emerge from my daily observation of life. My paper sculptures are created from overlays of heavy paper or drafting film. Using reflected light, I create shadows of white values or faintly colored reflection on these surfaces. Born in California into an artistic, musical family, I graduated from a small liberal arts college with a major in Graphic Arts concentrating on printmaking. I have recently renewed my love for the printing process, and now work in several different genres. Much of my print work involves the figure, organic forms, and abstraction. Color plays an important part in my prints. My drawings employ pen and ink, graphite, charcoal, and watercolour crayon on paper and Mylar

Kit Irwin is a graphic recorder, illustrator, and fiction writer. Her fiction has appeared in literary magazines, such as The Kenyon Review, in anthologies, such as Flash Fiction Forward, and online. She creates whiteboard animation videos, visual representations of live events in real time, cartoons, and illustrations. She earned her masters in Critical and Creative Thinking at UMass Boston.
