The GroovaLottos are a multi-Grammy nominated, alternative soul-funk ensemble, created by veteran touring and studio session players and singers. Starting as a jam session in 2009, and playing their first show in 2011 at a multicultural festival, the band quickly rose as a New England regional favorite at bars, clubs, and events, with their mix of funky soul classics and catchy originals.
The 2017 release of their album, "Ask Yo' Mama" (midnight Groove Recordings/Liberation M3), and an innovative street-corner concert tour, the album moved several thousand physical units and received 4 Grammy nominations in Pop and R&B that year and also earned additional nominations in R&B and Rock for the following year.
With the success of their album a regional popularity, the band became the progenitive force behind the rise of the Southcoast Thump & Soul movement, a regional, cross-genre music movement of Black and Brown musical artists creating a space for themselves in the New England region.
