Jazz Vocalist Alexis Cole with Trumpeter Greg Hopkins

Woods Hole Jazz Presents Alexis Cole (vocals) with Mike Tucker (sax)and Scott Arcangel (piano).

Alexis Cole’s smokey voice and sultry treatment of jazz standards is reminiscent of Anita O’Day and Sarah Vaughan. She is the recipient of a Swing Journal Gold Disk award, and was a winner of the NY Jazzmobile and Montreux Jazz Festival vocal competitions, and a finalist of the Sarah Vaughan Competition. Alexis

recently retired after two tours of duty as the lead vocalist for the West Point big band. She is joined by Greg Hopkins, one of New England’s top jazz trumpeters and New York pianist Scott Arcangel. Ms. Cole’s performance is the third concert of the Woods Hole Jazz spring series in scenic Falmouth on Cape Cod.
