Selected paintings of Doug Johnson will be on display at the Tanzer Weaving Studio and Gallery at 2623 Main St. Brewster, from July 29th through August 18th 2017. The artist’s reception will be August 5, 2017 from 4 to 6p.m.
Doug Johnson is a long time Brewster resident and has been active in the Cape Cod Arts community for more than 40 years. Van Gogh and Picasso were Johnson’s earliest sources of inspiration. He has a longstanding and recurring debt to the New York School (Abstract Expressionists) dating back to the 1950’s and 1960’s. “I loved their lifestyles and the sense of freedom they had in their work”.
