“The Power Of Light” takes the viewer on a naturalistic and beautiful journey. During the past year full of darkness and gloom, Catherine has held on to feelings of optimism and used these feelings to inspire her brilliant and colorful work. Her work in this show is intended to be the light at the end of the long and somber tunnel that we all have endured. Catherine captures the vitality, energy, and subtle strength that nature reveals in each of her landscapes. Both the ordinary and spectacular scenes in nature catch Catherine’s eye when traveling with her mediums and these mediums include mostly oils and pastels. While creating her work she interprets the ever-evolving atmospheric conditions in nature with color and form, and concentrates on the interplay of light and shadow. Her use of soft pastels and oil paints provide both the spontaneity and painterly qualities that allow her to depict a fleeting moment in time and nature.
