Studies in Fresco

“Studies in Fresco” takes the viewer on a vibrant and lively journey. Richard’s most recent passion, known as Fresco paintings, involves applying several coats of lime plaster on MDF board. From there he paints on top with layers of acrylic colors where his remarkable and distinct style is represented. This style expresses different perspectives of the human figure while using a wide range of unique and brilliant colors. The colors are absorbed into the porous surface and are burnished into the plaster with a stainless steel blade to create the “Modern Fresco”. Richard has developed this process over the years using the skills that he acquired applying decorative Italian lime plasters from building trades.
