Stone Carving, with Jesse Ensling 

Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on four Thursdays, beginning October 26, from 10am-1pm. This unique class in stone carving will focus on providing the student with the experience of working in soapstone through a subtraction process with rasps (files) and sandpapers, that will render your design into reality. Master stone carver Jesse Ensling works closely with students in this limited sized class, passing on skills that will allow students to continue stone carving in the future. In this four week workshop, students will learn how to select a stone that fits their design, and create an abstract, realistic or figurative sculpture from soapstone with depth, texture, and continuity of design.
