John Murelle Spring Concert

Local baritone singer John Murelle, Boston pianist William Merrill and Brian Sandlin on bass will perform a concert of Broadway tunes by Vernon Duke and George Gershwin on Saturday, April 18 at 3 PM. Tickets are $15 and are available at the library or may be reserved by calling 508-548-4709. Proceeds benefit the library and the musicians.
 
The program, "Americans in Paris/Russians on Broadway," The Songs of Vernon Duke and George Gershwin features beloved songs and piano solos such as Duke's "April in Paris" and "Taking a Chance on Love" and Gershwin's "Love is Here to Stay" and "Love Walked In." Both composers came from a Russian heritage and had a keen interest in composing classical compositions as well as musicals for Broadway and Hollywood.
