Many of these styles were part of the jazz scene in the 1940s and ‘50s, so jazz enthusiasts will be familiar with some of the music and make new discoveries along the way. Between songs, Cerise will talk about the origins and significance of each dance, while drummer Phil Vitali, a master of Latin percussion, will demonstrate the distinctive rhythms. With Charlie Jamieson on piano, Nick Rice on bass, and George Machon on trumpet, flute and percussion.
