Hybrid Pastel Painting Classes, with Betsy Payne Cook

Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on four Tuesdays, beginning July 6, from 2-4:30pm. Weeks 1 & 3 will be online, on Zoom, and will focus on demonstrations and painting exercises. Weeks 2 & 4 will be hybrid, live at the Cultural Center but with an option to Zoom instead, and will focus on instructor critiques and individual painting time with feedback. The series will cover setting the scene with strong light to create a sense of summer’s hot landscapes, hazy horizons, and high key palettes; underpainting techniques; how to include figures and buildings; preliminary value sketches; composition; and perspective.
