Join Bruce Childs for an Art History lecture focused on Queer representation since the 1800s.
Popular culture has in recent decades represented gay and lesbian lifestyle on television, in movies, and in print media. “Queer visual representations” will survey the phenomenon of the male gaze in art of the western world. Paintings, graphics, and photography precede modern narratives and interpretations of queer American culture, often neglected and misunderstood by those looking in from outside the Queer Perspective.
