The Cotuit Center for the Art’s popular Winter Art exhibit is back and this year’s it’s a wild one! Animalia is inspired by the entire animal kingdom, across sea and sky and all seven continents.
An opening reception is being held Saturday, January 6, 3-5 PM, and will feature live exotic animals, courtesy of Amazing Animal Ambassadors.
The show will run through Saturday, February 10. The public is welcome to view this year’s wildly creative original pieces of art, all created by local artists. The exhibit, which is in Cotuit Center for the Arts’ main hall, is available for viewing Tuesdays-Fridays, 10 am to 4 pm, and Saturdays, noon to 4 pm.
The annual exhibit is geared towards children with work hung lower than standard. School groups are encouraged to take part in guided tours of the exhibit, Mondays and Wednesdays. Tours are for groups of 6-25 people, and often feature working artists who are part of the show. Tours are free, but must be booked in advance. To reserve a slot or to inquire about booking a larger tour or one outside of listed times, contact Gallery Associate Jayna Simpson at jayna@cotuitcenterforthearts.org
