Well-Known Artist Vivien Oswell (Age 100) Painting at Home
A silent auction of several paintings and prints by local artist Vivien Oswell will be held as part of the Guild of Harwich Artists ‘Art-in-the-Park’ on Labor Day, September 4th in Doane Park, Harwich Port. Rain date is the following Monday.
Vivien, who turned 100 years old in June, was still producing oil commissions as recently as last fall. She is a co-founding member, along with Georgia Dearborn, of the Guild of Harwich Artists when in late 1970’s they began selling their art in Doane Park. The silent auction will run from 10am to 4pm; one need not be present to win. Proceeds will help fund a commemorative bench in the park.
