Sallie Raymond - Meet the Artist & Featured Artist Exhibit

Eastwind Gallery in Orleans, MA reopened for the 2020 season on June 11th with fifteen gallery artists displaying a diverse array of artwork including paintings, photography, and originally crafted jewelry. The Featured Artist for the period 9/15 through 9/19 will be Sallie Raymond.

A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, College of Design, Architecture, and Art, Sallie worked for many years as a display stylist in Cincinnati, Ohio, and London, England, and as a layout artist in New York City.  She then spent over thirty years in the marine industry, delivering yachts up and down the East coast, chartering around Florida and the Bahamas, and working as a parts and store manager on Cape Cod and in Florida.

In 2010, Sallie joined the Cape Cod Art Center with the intention of returning to her artwork.  By chance, she signed up for a class with Odin Smith in pastel and acrylic.  Now Sallie works exclusively in acrylic, finding it the most versatile medium she has ever experienced.  Exploring the possibilities of the medium has led her to many awards and much satisfaction.

Sallie is an artist member of Cape Cod Art Center, Cultural Center of Cape Cod, Monday Painters, Yarmouth Art Guild and Wednesday Painters.  Her work is shown at Eastwind Studio and Gallery, Orleans, MA,  Summer Mondays on Dennis Green with Monday Painters, and in the gift shops at Cape Cod Museum of Art  and  Cape Cod Art Center.  Although she paints other locations, Cape Cod is Sallie’s muse.  From childhood to the present, Cape Cod has been the place she loves best!

Eastwind Gallery is now offering online purchasing via Pay Pal.  The Eastwind website (eastwindgallery.net) provides detailed information regarding each artist’s work, and member artists will personally attend to shipping requirements and special needs.

Eastwind Gallery has implemented recommended health precautions necessary to provide a sanitized and safe environment through a comprehensive daily sanitation regimen to minimize the risk of infection. Visitors are asked to wear masks.

Eastwind Gallery is a cooperative gallery located downstairs between Watson’s Men’s Apparel & Gallant Jewelry in the heart of the Orleans Cultural District. Enter from Main St. or Main St. Square where FREE parking is available behind Watson’s with a rear entrance to the gallery.
