Covered containers, from tiny treasure boxes to kitchen counter canisters, present unique technical and aesthetic challenges. In this 2 day demonstration and hands-on workshop with nationally recognized ceramic artist, Maureen Mills, you will bring all your making skills to the table to explore making pots as containers. We’ll cover many techniques for making containers on and off the wheel. In addition we’ll cover strategies for making lids that fit, functional or sculptural knobs and handles,and applying feet. We’ll do all of this as we consider how and why we make the design choices we make.
