Meet the authors of three absorbing novels at Sturgis Library’s Local Author Talk and Book Signing event.

Janis Robinson Daly’s debut historical fiction novel, An Unlocked Path tells the story of a young woman at the turn of the 20th century who defies societal norms to become a doctor. Kirkus Reviews says An Unlocked Path is “an often-riveting fictional testament to a doctor…that effectively showcases the power of love, friendship, and faith—both in one’s calling and in oneself—to create change in the world.”

In Steve Sheppard’s award-winning Tourist Town a woman with amnesia finds herself on Nantucket and involved in uncovering a decades-old lighthouse tragedy. Kirkus Reviews calls it “an involving identity puzzle with memorable characters and a vivid setting.” Nantucket Nocturne continues this woman’s story into the off-season where another decades-old mystery surfaces; this one revolves around the robbery of a whaling-era sea chest. Kirkus Reviews describes it as “an involving mystery with humor, heart, and a strong sense of place.”
