For many, drawing seems to be a mysterious process reserved for the “talented” few. Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain has debunked this myth. Welcoming students who are convinced they have little talent for drawing and those who wish to expand their current artistic abilities, this workshop offers an intensive combination of discussion and studio exercises. The class is designed to awaken the perceptual skills for drawing with confidence.
Based on the pioneering work of Dr. Betty Edwards, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain invites participants to see and think differently by tapping into the non-verbal (non-dominant) side of the brain. Set in rural Wellfleet, Massachusetts. It is possible as well to schedule this intensive in other locations.
Offering clear and kind instruction, this workshop is guided by Douglas Ritter, who is certified by Dr. Betty Edwards, and whose work appears in the definitive final edition of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. The instructor has been teaching since 1987, and currently teaches within the arts dept. at Cape Cod Community College.
