Cape Symphony presents Our Band Celebrates Burt Bacharach

Our Band’s award-winning songs draw from every imaginable source. From the classics, to Gershwin and Tin Pan Alley to Appalachia to Eastern Europe and even the spine-tingling harmonies of the Everly Brothers and song-craft of Burt Bacharach, Our Band’s Sasha Papernik and Justin Poindexter are equal parts songwriters and musical archeologists.

They are thrilled to present a program of their new repertoire (2021 and 2022 finalists for the International MerleFest and NewSong Songwriting Competitions) as well as the music that inspires them, all served with wit, virtuosity, and close harmony.

Award-winning Americana duo Our Band (Sasha Papernik and Justin Poindexter) lead a concert honoring the legacy of American songwriter, Burt Bacharach. The composer of “Walk on By,” “Anyone Who Had a Heart,” “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head,” “Wishin’ and Hopin’” and many, many more classic hits, Bacharach’s unique melodies and innovative rhythms redefined American popular music. Our Band reimagines his legacy, delivering creative interpretations of Bacharach’s best, alongside their own award-winning original music and wide-ranging repertoire, all delivered with their quick wit, virtuoso style and airtight harmonies.
