Animal Attraction

May 26-July 2nd a benefit animal themed art exhibit by Nancy Minnigerode will be on view at Woodruff’s Art Center in Mashpee Commons. A meet-the-artist opening reception and presentation by Mills River Rescue Animal Sanctuary takes place on Thursday May 26th from 5-6:30; the event is free and open to the public.

ANIMAL ATTRACTION features paintings, drawings and pastels from local award winning artist and illustrator Nancy Minnigerode with animals taking center stage in every composition. When asked what she wants the audience to know Nancy said: “Animals have always been “it” for me. From frogs and salamanders to horses and farm animals, from guinea pigs and squirrels to goats and wild fauna, I love them all! I want to share some of my favorites!” As a veterinary technician for many years Nancy developed a real love of animals. She has a degree in Visual Arts and completed a course of study in Natural Science Illustration at Rhode Island School of Design in 2011.

The artist is donating a portion of all sales from the exhibit to benefit Mills River Rescue Animal Sanctuary located in Marstons Mills. They are a non- profit organization dedicated finding forever homes for horses and ponies in need. The Sanctuary will be doing a talk at the beginning of the reception.
