The Monomoy Company presents Shaw’s most popular play, Candida, which is a classic, yet resoundingly modern story of love and fidelity. This production is directed by Monomoy favorite Mary O’Brady.
CANDIDA
By George Bernard Shaw
Taking place in Northeast London and written by Nobel Prize Winner George Bernard Shaw, Candida follows the domestic turmoil between a young poet, a clergyman and his charismatic wife. What begins as a superficial romantic triangle later develops into deeper discussion on the natures of love, fidelity and artistic imagination. The combination of wit and provocative subject matter will no doubt contribute to a fresh, funny and enjoyable evening.
