History of the Cape Cod Canal and Bridges

Presented by Historical Society of Old Yarmouth at Cultural Center of Cape Cod

Learn about the history of the Cape Cod Canal and its bridges from Samantha Gray, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park ranger, on March 10 at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod in South Yarmouth.

Gray will use historic images and film and relate stories of the canal’s history, features and operations and well as how the two bridges came to be at the winter lecture series. Gray manages the canals’ interpretive services and outreach programs and the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center. She has won numerous awards for her work with the Army Corps for 27 years.

Sponsored by the Historical Society of Old Yarmouth, the program is at 2 pm.

Tickets are $15 for nonmembers, $10 for society members. Order at www.hsoy.org/events. Tickets may be available at the door if the program doesn’t sell out.
