Searching for the Lady of the Dunes

Christopher Setterlund’s book, “Searching for the Lady of the Dunes” pulls back the curtain on the “Wild West” that was Provincetown in the 1960s and 1970s, which he will discuss in a lecture Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod in South Yarmouth. For nearly 50 years, the “Lady of the Dunes” was Cape Cod’s most enduring mystery. She was found savagely murdered and mutilated in the remote dunes of Provincetown in 1974, but not identified until 2022 as Ruth Marie Terry.

Tickets for the program, sponsored by the Historical Society of Old Yarmouth, may be purchased at www.hsoy.org/events for $15 non-society members. Tickets may be available at the door.
