Afro Dead is an internationally based band playing the music of the Grateful Dead in African styles such as Afrobeat, Soukous and Highlife– and we are excited to welcome their unique sound to the tent on Saturday, June 24.
Afro Dead is a musical collective (from Africa, South America, Europe and the United States) directed by Aaron Feder and featuring the talented Guinean singer Sia Tolno. Aaron Feder is the founder of Alma Afrobeat Ensemble and is a multi-instrumentalist with many years of extensive experience with Grateful Dead music, including playing and recording with members of Phil and Friends, Oteil and Friends, Peter Rowan and more– and Sia Tolno on vocals brings her years of extensive recording and her global live performance touring career.
