Located on the Outer Cape, Payomet’s mission is to present professional level educational and arts programs for residents and visitors, adults and children, all year long.
Formed in 1998, Payomet now does its seasonal summer programming in a Giant Covered Tent seating up to 130. Payomet has been accepted as a Program Partner at Highlands Center at Cape Cod National Seashore, North Truro, where it hopes to have a year-round, brick-and-mortar home in the near future.
Programs include music, dance, theatre productions, readings of plays, poetry and fiction, featuring Cape-based authors and performers. Also Drama Classes for Children and Free Storytelling for the entire family, as well as Shakespeare Youth Workshop for young people ages 12-18, plus a Free yearly Touring Shakespeare Production as part of its Shakepeare by the Shore Project Collaboration with Cape Cod Community College.
