Live Panel Discussion at Payomet Performing Arts Center’s Drive-In Venue!
Put on your thinking cap and come out to the Payomet Ball Field on Thursday, August 20 at 10:30am to join two profoundly informed urbanists at our event Early Stages: The Past, Present, and Future of American Cities: A Conversation between Urbanists Lizabeth Cohen and Barry Bluestone.
Lizabeth Cohen of the Harvard History Department has recently published \"Saving America’s Cities: Ed Logue and the Struggle to Renew Urban America in the Suburban Age\" (Farrar, Straus & Giroux, 2019), which won the Bancroft Prize in American History in 2020. Barry Bluestone, Professor Emeritus and Founding Dean of the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs at Northeastern University, is the co-author of \"The Urban Experience: Economics, Society, and Public Policy\" (Oxford University Press). Join them for a discussion about how American cities have fared since World War II and the challenges they face today.
Both Cohen and Bluestone are members of the Payomet Board of Directors and part-time residents of Truro.
