Curious Exposures: A Victorian Celebration of the Photograph

Curious Exposures: A Victorian Celebration of the Photograph

Presented by Cahoon Museum of American Art at Cahoon Museum of American Art

Stop by the Museum for an evening of curious vintage fun! Sip delicious themed cocktails, including the “Earl Grey Dandy,” carouse with costumed performers Kristin and Jay Stewart, nibble Victorian tea sandwiches catered by the Optimist Café and have your silhouette portrait drawn.

Come dressed in your Victorian garb or vintage adornments - six lucky ticket holders will be selected to have a free tintype photograph taken by artist Craig Murphy, who uses a reproduction Victorian camera.  Peruse the history of photography in Through the Looking Glass: Daguerreotype Masterworks from the Dawn of Photography, which inspired the party, and view the compelling contemporary artwork in Look this Way: Jodi Colella | Jackie Reeves Kimberly Sheerin.

A highlight of the season, this second annual autumn party will delight curious folks of all ages.

Curious Exposures is sponsored by J Miller Pictureframer and Aesthetic Dental Care.
