Capt. Bangs Hallet House Museum opens for the season with a special lighting exhibit.
The Capt. Bangs Hallet House Museum in Yarmouth Port will open for the season June 14 at 1 p.m. with a special exhibit of early lighting devices from the collection of Charles and Barbara Adams. “Let There Be Light: Early Lighting Devices” includes a wide range of lighting from the 18th and 19th centuries.
The museum is the only furnished sea captain’s house regularly open to the public on Cape Cod, featuring the seafaring days to the Far East in the 1800s. The 18th century kitchen in the house also will be open. The museum at 11 Strawberry Lane off the Yarmouth Port Common will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday to Sunday through mid-October.
