Setting the Table: Ceramic Exhibition in Truro

Presented by Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill and Cape Cod Potters at Truro Center for the Arts

The Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill will host an art exhibition of work created by artists who participate in the Cape Cod Potters, Inc. organization. The artists will exhibit their ceramic work around the theme of “Setting the Table” featuring a full place setting created by each artist.  The exhibition will take place from October 13th  – 30th at the Truro Center for the Arts, 10 Meetinghouse Road in the Main Gallery.  A public reception and potluck will be held on Thursday, October 15th from 4 to 6 pm at 10 Meetinghouse Road, Truro, MA.  Concurrent to the exhibition in the Main Gallery, Castle Hill’s Ceramic Program Manager Brian Taylor will exhibit his ceramic work in Gallery 10, in the library building adjacent to the Main Barn.

Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill has teamed up with the Cape Cod Potters to highlight the amazing ceramic works being made on the Cape. SETTING THE TABLE will feature 25 current members' individual interpretations of a single table setting. Join us for the opening reception for these two delightful exhibitions! Many of these works will be for sale.

The Cape Cod Potters, Inc. is a non-profit organization of artists with a common aim: to better understand the medium of clay by the sharing of knowledge. They operate as an educational, charitable organization through the dissemination of knowledge and experience. Throughout the year, potters individually and collectively hold exhibits, demonstrations and artistic activities for the general public, camps and schools.  Each year, Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill receives a scholarship from the Cape Cod Potters, Inc. to support a ceramic student in need and enabling them to take classes at Castle Hill. The Cape Cod Potters, Inc. also gives support towards Castle Hill’s wood firings at Highland Center.

Founded by artist Joyce Johnson in 1971, The Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill is a vibrant year-round creative community offering workshops in all mediums. Serving a local as well as national and international community, Castle Hill thrives as a hub for artistic activity throughout each season on Cape Cod.
