Open to both novice and more seasoned writers, this workshop is designed to introduce participants to the unique permissions and challenges of writing for the stage.
Experiments with imagery, realism, heightened language, and non-linear storytelling will help students explore the potential and parameters of theatrical devices while honing their authentic voices. Techniques for adaptation, editing, and structuring will be used to refine material generated during the workshop or introduced from previous projects. Fundamentals of playwriting will be enforced and delight in creation encouraged.
