Using low-cost, non-toxic techniques, we will make collagraph plates with both intaglio and relief surfaces, which we will then ink simultaneously with different colors in order to produce painterly, colorful prints.
Viscosity inking allows several colors of ink to be printed at the same time from one plate. We will print our plates using traditional etching inks, utilizing a no solvent clean-up. Our mixed-media approach to printmaking will also include drypoint, monotype, stencils and chine colle techniques, as desired.
