Working with Cold Wax Medium while Developing Color Maturity with Carol Pelletier

This course will explore the various properties of cold wax used as a stand-alone medium, with oil paint and on a variety of surfaces which may include canvas, printmaking papers, photographs, collage on panel and with other types of media like ink drawings and watercolor.

Demonstrations will begin each session allowing time for questions and experimentation. This course is for beginning to advanced artists who wish to explore cold wax medium as a painterly approach.

Carol Pelletier is the Chair of Fine Arts and Professor of Art at Endicott College in Beverly Massachusetts. Carol has taught multiple workshops on painting and cold wax methods at some of New England's well-known art institutions such as, the Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill, Snow Farm, and the Peabody Essex Museum. She has received three National Endowment for the Arts Grants and a Mellon Foundation Grant. She has exhibited her work in over 60 solo and group exhibits nationwide and abroad. Her work has been in multiple catalog exhibitions and publications including the New American Paintings, Creative Quarterly, and Studio Visit. Her residencies and fellowships include the Vermont Studio Center and the Salzberg Global Seminar. She is represented by the Cynthia Winings Gallery in Blue Hill Maine.
