Drawing on Saar’s deep interest in the power of materials, this course focuses on the choice of medium, the nature of materials and the role they play in creating content.
In this week-long master class, mixed-media artists work in the studio on independent projects. Each class day begins with an investigation of the work of artists using unorthodox materials. Saar then meets with participants individually. Class members present their work for a group critique at the end of the week. Students should bring a variety of materials with which they have a personal affinity and want to incorporate into their work.
