Drawing has evolved from traditional media, and it is no longer defined in the art historical terms of paper and charcoal. Indeed, how we define a “drawing”, may now cross disciplines and include many non-traditional media.
This is especially true when we consider the blurred boundaries between drawing and painting. This course will explore the ways in which a non-traditional drawing surface, mylar (formerly used by architects for their "reproducibles" and archival work), can be deployed to work with some traditional drawing media (ink and graphite), exploring new ways to express narrative, memory and time.
