Why Abstraction Now: A Talk with Artist Herb Edwards

Longtime artist Herb Edwards of North Falmouth will discuss materials and techniques and the works currently on display in his June show at in the Sigel Gallery at the Falmouth Art Center.

This event is free and open to the public. Donations welcome.

Herb Edwards has had a long career in the visual arts since receiving his MFA from Pratt Institute in 1968. He was a college art professor for over 20 years while making art and exhibiting his work widely. For most of his career he became well-known for his ‘painterly realism’ but in the past few years has also begun experimenting with abstraction which, “allows him to feel more free and inventive while still being inspired by the natural landscape of Cape Cod.”
