Meet Local Author Marcie Schwartz

Meet local author Marcie Schwartz on Saturday, September 9th at 10:30am at the Library. This event is free and open to the public.

Marcie is teaching a 3-part series in September and October, “Explore the Magic of Poetry Through Expressive Arts”. The series is for children in grades 1 through 4. Click here for more information and to register for the programs.

Local author Marcie Schwartz has been enchanting young children and educating their parents for the past 40 years. She attended Clark University, earning degrees in special education and psychology, and went on to pursue her graduate studies in early childhood education at Tufts University and Wheelock College.

Marcie’s picture book When Someone Deeply Listens to You, is the culmination of Marcie’s certification in poetic medicine. Marcie carries her skill and enthusiastic stvle into poetry circles she designs, to meet the needs of numerous populations. These include children, diversely abled adults, parents, and seniors.

The 36-page, 8.5 x 11″ book features beautiful full-color illustrations by another Massachusetts native, Eric Funk, as well as five pages of deep listening activities that you and your family can do at home. The book is available in both hardcover and softcover.

Depending on the time allocated, Marcie will be on hand to sign copies of the book, do a storytime reading, and possibly lead an activity.
