Art lovers will have the chance to experience three very different exhibits beginning March 2nd to April 20th at Cotuit Center for the Arts – political satire, a twist on reality, and some serious fun.
2)
Reinventing the Real – Georganna Lenssen: The works of contemporary artist Georganna Lenssen will awaken your senses, spark your imagination, and put a smile on your face. Whether painting still life objects in her studio, or capturing nature’s beauty plein air, Lenssen’s interpretation of the world around her is bursting with energy.
3)
Serious Fun – A Juried Exhibit: This year, Cotuit Center for the Arts will have two open juried exhibits. The first, “Serious Fun” will be judged by Salley Mavor who says, “Creating art is serious business, but it can be fun, too.” Entries for the juried show should be pieces with a playful aspect, either through subject matter or materials and techniques. The artwork can be fun to make or look at and anything from humorous to heartfelt. Artists are encouraged to submit entries in all artistic mediums, 2 and 3 dimensional, videos, or anything that strikes their imagination. Gallery-ready submissions may be dropped off on Monday, February 25th from 10am-4pm.
Our Opening Night Reception is on March 2, 2019, 5-7 pm. It features an artists talk, free admission and snacks. Beverages are available for purchase.
We’re also pleased to announce that on April 13th, 11am to 1pm, you can join Salley Mavor in our Mainstage Theater where she will talk about her exhibition, her journey as an artist and will take questions from the audience. Admission is free.
