Founded by the late Marilyn Shofield, Saltworks Fine Art is a cooperative gallery in the heart of Main Street, Orleans. Featuring the work of Anne Gray Crowley, Beverly Bridgewater Fuller, Carol Livingston, Pat Martin, Matthew Pippin, Dianne Rasch, and Laurel Wilson, the gallery is a business where the visitor will always find one of the artists present to share their first-hand knowledge of art and artists. There is a variety of quality work in a number of media: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, gouache, encaustic, and pen and ink. Subjects are varied from landscape and seascapes to floral or wildlife portraits. Notecards, art-tiles, and prints are also available. Don’t miss this special treat.

Saltworks Fine Art wishes to bring quality original fine art work at reasonable prices to the residents and to the visitors who come to the Cape year round. The variety of styles, media, and subjects in the works of seven local artists assure the visitor of an exciting art experience and unqiue view of the Cape. The environment is relaxed and comfortable and people are encouraged to talk with the artists present, watch them work, or enjoy the summer art receptions.

Saltworks Fine Art was founded in 2009 by the late Marilyn Schofield. It is yellow building in the heart of Orleans’
Main Street directly across from the Chamber of Commerce. Its location in a center for both the arts and shopping on the lower Cape maKe it a spot that attracts local residents and visitors to the area year round. Nearby is Nauset Beach and the Cape Cod National Seashore, as well as fine dining and many inns and motels. The partners have chosen to keep the number of artists small to maintain the more intimate nature of the gallery and its cosy atmosphere.

Seven artists exhibit their artwork and work in the gallery in the summer and on a more restricted basis in the off-season. Receptions, open to the public, occur biweekly in the summer. The gallery interacts with the Orleans Chamber of Commerce, the Orleans Community Partnership and the Orleans Gallery Association in townwide projects to stimulate and educate the community through cultural events such as the Christmas Cookie Stroll, Maritime Days, the Cape Cod Pops, and Fall for the Arts.
