Founded in 1981, the Cape Cod Museum of Art takes pride in telling the story of the Cape and Islands’ rich art heritage and in showing the best work from today’s vibrant art community. With a facility boasting seven beautiful galleries and a lovely sculpture garden, the museum is at the heart of the Cape and its artistic life. Its permanent collection of more than 2,000 works includes gems by such important artists as Charles W. Hawthorne, William McGregor Paxton, Henry Hensche, Hans Hofmann, Robert Vickrey and Red Grooms. Exhibitions include National juried exhibitions, invitational, CCMoA members and docent-curated exhibitions featuring works from the Permanent Collection. Exhibitions change approximately every 10-12 weeks.

Frequent lectures and programs provide many opportunities to enhance your knowledge and appreciation of art. You’ll also find wonderful outlets for your own creativity through the museum’s year-round art classes and workshops.

CCMoA reaches out to local young people through museum visits, our annual “Through Young Eyes” exhibition and Summer Youth program. Art & Alzheimers is a free program offered on Mondays in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Family Support Center.

The CCMoA Museum Shop reflects our mission by featuring an exciting array of objects created by local artists and craftspeople.

Cape Cod Museum of Art presents two Music & More concert series each year. The summer/fall one is held outside in the sculpture garden under a tent and tWinter/spring concerts are held inside one of the spacious galleries. Genres range from Jazz to blues, acoustic and pop.

Other annual events/fundraisers include Mangia al Museo (held in the early spring) and Oktoberfest in the fall. The annual Live Art Auction & Gala is held in August on the grounds of the Cape Cod Museum of Art.
