An Upper Cape tradition, the Chorale has been weaving musical stories of sound and timbre, passion and artistry, for almost half a century. Currently over 100 singers participate in our four major concerts, and professional musicians from the region form the core of our orchestra.
Under the skilled and creative direction of John Yankee – now in his fifth season with the Chorale – we strive to bring the utmost musicianship, interpretive power, and vitality to our presentations of the masterworks.

In recent years, the Chorale has continued to grow as a community resource. We now offer open sings of masterworks, master classes with visiting soloists, and summer community sings for visitors and residents. In addition to the educational opportunities offered by the Chorale, theory classes, vocal workshops and individual lessons are
available with the Artistic Director. In 2008, in recognition of our former director, Frederick Johnson, we instituted a scholarship program in his name to support Upper Cape students pursuing music education at the college level.

Chamber Chorale
Founded in 2008, the Falmouth Chamber Chorale is an auditioned vocal ensemble featuring members from the larger Chorale. This smaller choral group performs at Chorale concerts and, as part of the Chorale’s outreach effort, is available for special performances in the community.

Coro Ragazzi Children’s Chorus
The Coro Ragazzi Children’s Chorus focuses on developing proper vocal technique and musical literacy through a diverse and exciting repertoire. The motivated students from across the Upper Cape who sing in this auditioned treble voice chorus have an opportunity to challenge themselves and become part of a unique and remarkable ensemble.

Since it was founded in January 2010 as a pilot program for the Chorale’s performance of Carmina Burana, the Coro Ragazzi Children’s Chorus has presented its own concerts while continuing to perform occasionally with the Falmouth Chorale.

The Falmouth Chorale presents four concerts a year, singers may participate in one to all four concerts. Over 100 singers from across the Upper- and Mid-Cape as well as the South Coast will participate during the season.

Rehearsals are currently Tuesdays, 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church, Falmouth during the Fall, Winter and Spring. Please visit our website,www.falmouthchorale.org for details.
