The Solstice Singers is a choral ensemble that performs medieval and Renaissance music woven with elements of drama, dance, and poetry. The group includes 14-16 singers from southeastern MA and the upper Cape who present one or two major programs per year under the musical direction of Dr. Lore Loftfield DeBower. The December program includes their chorus of children, who delight audiences with their sweet voices and engaging stage presence. The Solstice Singers are regularly joined by Ensemble Passacaglia, an early music instrumental consort, and programs are further enlivened by guest performers such as sword dancers and mummers. Period costumes and rich decorations complete the setting and transport audiences to a time long ago but not forgotten.
