The Falmouth Museums on the Green contain a treasure trove of stories and artifacts that tell the story of the town of Falmouth, Massachusetts. Owned and operated by the Falmouth Historical Society–the oldest such organization on Cape Cod–the Museums are made up of a two acre campus with several buildings. The museums overlook the Village Green. Two 18th-century houses display period furniture, fine art, textiles and temporary exhibits that provide a glimpse into the town’s rich historic past.
Our Cultural Center is where we host a variety of public programs, lectures and events for both children and adults. It is also available for private rentals. Added in December 2012, it is the newest structure to our campus.
The 1790 Dr. Francis Wicks House is an example of what life was like for a physician in a Federalist-era home. Guided tours are provided and visitors can learn about life in Falmouth by viewing the oldest home on the Town Green and seeing furnishings from the period.
The c.1730 Conant House is where the offices of the Historical Society are located as well as where exhibitions are held. Our Research Library is also in the Conant House. In 2014, an exhibit on “Victorian Life in Falmouth” will be on display.
The Falmouth Garden Club maintains three delightful gardens on the Museum grounds — a Colonial-style flower garden, an herb garden and a Memorial Park. Visitors are welcome to picnic in the gazebo or stroll the gardens during daylight hours year-round.

Walking tours of Falmouth are provided each Tuesday and Thursday (weather permitting) at 10 am. After Labor Day, trolley tours of Falmouth are given.
