Author Talk with Len Egan

Author Talk with Len Egan

Presented by West Falmouth Library at West Falmouth Library

Local author Len Egan will present a talk at West Falmouth Library on Thursday, April 4th at 2:30 pm.

Egan, a North Falmouth resident, is a first-time fiction writer. His novel, The Night Not at the Blue Heron Inn, tells the story of a complex plot to steal consultant Glen Deegan’s Cape Cod waterfront property, relying on a clause in his inheritance. The legal thriller is available at Eight Cousins Book Store on Main Street in Falmouth and online from Barnes and Noble. Len will be available to sign books after the talk and response to questions and comments.

Len Egan previously has worked as a process improvement consultant globally in a variety of plants, businesses, and organizations. When the pandemic struck in 2020, his consulting activity was sidelined as clients put off projects and closed facilities to non-employees. With limited offsite work, he then set out to complete The Night Not at the Blue Heron Inn which he had worked on periodically in the past but always set aside as paid assignments were scheduled.

Len is a graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee with a degree in journalism and a second major equivalent in political science, aiming then for a career in media management. Life, however, interrupted that pursuit, and he ended up in the corporate world in communications and later product engineering work.

When his employer was acquired in 1991, Len left to become a full-time consultant and practitioner in so-called lean processing based on a system he had learned in Japan from a Toyota affiliate. It remains a successful business in South Carolina.

Len, who resides in North Family with his wife Ann and Bichon Frise Winston, is a member of the Cape Cod Writers Center.
