Join Cape Cod artist, educator, and forager Stephanie King for an introductory level workshop into the world of designing collages with pressed and preserved botanicals and seaweed.
Presented by the Cultural Center of Cape Cod on Tuesday, May 7 from 5:30-7:30 pm.
Join Cape Cod artist, educator, and forager Stephanie King for an introductory level workshop into the world of designing collages with pressed and preserved botanicals and seaweed. Your nature art journey starts here. Stephanie will guide you through the fundamentals of ethical foraging of wild plants and marine algae. Seaweed and garden flowers are renewable resources that can be harvested responsibly.
Together, we will experiment with locally sourced natural materials to create our own collages that can be used as journal entries, gift cards or simply framed. In this workshop we will draw inspiration from Cape Cod’s natural beauty to discover boundless connections between art and nature. Find love for your environment through creativity and plant consciousness. The preserved collages create a connection to nature and a lens to examine patterns in the natural world. This art form is a wonderful way to preserve your garden and seaside memories alike.
Cost is $37/$33 for members. Includes all materials. Register at www.cultural-center.org or call 508-394-7100. The Cultural Center is located at 307 Old Main Street in South Yarmouth.
