From March 14-April 19, “Cape Scapes” will be on view at Woodruff’s Art Center.  This 2-person exhibition features the photography of artists Arthur Tsicoulias and Francis Keller. An opening reception will take place on Thursday, March 14th  from 5-6:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Arthur Tsicoulias is an artist who works simultaneously in the mediums of painting and photography. Photography was his first love, fostered by his father who built him a darkroom at age 9. Arthur studied photography at the Art Institute of Boston, and worked  15 years for a commercial photo lab as a printer. Inspired by his surroundings here on Cape Cod, Arthur’s photographs illustrate his innovative perspective and painterly eye.

Francis Keller has been taking photographs for over 50 years in both the commercial and journalistic sectors. He attended college at UMASS Amherst, earning his degree in Art Education. Upon graduation, he began work in photojournalism and advertising. For many years he was a staff photographer for Boston City Hospital, photographing everything from portraits to operations. Francis’ photography is now focused on the genre of fine art, taking pictures of subjects that inspire him personally. “I've reached the point where I don't think in terms of subject matter being ugly, beautiful, or anything in between. It's either something I want to photograph or don't.”

Woodruff’s Art Center is a fine art gallery, custom frame shop and retailer of high quality artist materials, located in Mashpee Commons. The business has been serving clients on the Cape and Islands since 1989.
