Saturday and Sunday, April 20th and 21st (Two Day Workshop)

Whether you are new to cold wax painting, or have painted in cold wax before, this class will  explore the various surfaces and tools used in cold wax painting and its unique effects.   We will explore the veils and layers of coloring, mixing, merging, glazing, mark making, scribbling, solvent reduction, powders and pigments, oil sticks, masking and collage.

We will also review and go over the five elements of design:  color, shape, value, line and texture, and practice using cold wax medium and tools starting with small abstracts on oil paper, advancing into landscapes and painting a figure on a busy background using oil paper or gessoed birch panel.
