Hyannis Film Festival presents transgender comedian Julia Scotti in her Cape Cod premiere, on stage and with award-winning documentary Julia Scotti: Funny That Way, written and directed by Crossing Delancey writer Susan Sandler + local funny women.
Julia Scotti, a finalist on America's Got Talent, takes the stage on Friday, October 13, at 8 pm, with an opening appearance by national headliner Jane Condon, an audience favorite on Last Comic Standing. Cape Cod comedy playwrights, writers, and performers Sandra Lee Bolton and June Bowser-Barrett take the stage with stand-up comedy, a reading, and a short video, on Saturday, October 14 at 2 pm. The 2022 documentary Julia Scotti: Funny That Way will show Saturday, October 14, at 4 pm, with Scotti and Sandler answering audience questions.
Admission to the Friday show only is $30. Saturday events are each $15. The $50 money-saving pass to all events includes an invitation only early reception on Friday.
Jane Condon won the Ladies of Laughter contest 2004 and was voted audience favorite on NBC's Last Comic Standing in 2007. Scotti and Condon have appeared together and with other comedians on several programs. Condon, from Greenwich, Connecticut along with her husband and two sons, insists she’s “still a nice person.” Condon is also executive producer of Julia Scotti: Funny That Way.
